Events and Initiatives

ARU-HRI members are encouraged to take advantage of opportunities for networking and professional development throughout the year.

Annual Conference

The Annual Conference is ARU-HRI’s signature event. Held in the fall, the conference provides attendees a chance to gain perspective from higher education leaders about some of the latest trends in HR, leadership expectations of the Chief HR Officer as well as a chance to collaborate and participate in HR-focused facilitated lightning round sessions.

ARU-HRI CHRO Academy

The ARU-HRI CHRO Academy provides an opportunity for HR leaders from ARU-HRI universities who are 2-5 years from the role of CHRO to develop the skills required to be an influential chief HR executive leader in a disruptive world, driving HR performance and delivering meaningful results for their HR workforce and university employees. ARU-HRI members are asked to nominate one individual from their university who has the experience and qualifications to be an upcoming CHRO.

Working Groups

ARU-HRI’s working groups provide members with the opportunity to set the course of the organization, network with their peers and stay engaged.

Learning Sessions

Members are invited to participate in — and lead — learning sessions throughout the year.

ARU-HRI Online Forum for Member Discussions

Connect with your ARU-HRI colleagues online through the ARU-HRI Community in CUPA-HR Connect. The community is a forum where ARU-HRI members and board members can converse and share resources focused on the leadership and management complexities related to the size and scope of ARU-HRI-affiliated universities.

You can participate in this forum online at http://connect.cupahr.org (select Communities then My Communities to locate our group) or through your e-mail account, using the e-mail address [email protected]

We automatically set up ARU-HRI members to receive a daily digest email with notifications of the day’s discussions. You can adjust that setting to receive a real-time email for each post or no email. To adjust your settings, visit your profile and click the My Account tab to find the Community Notifications area.

If you have questions about the conference, please contact Mark Coldren or Michelle Piekutowski, our planning co-chairs.
