Seth Brahler
Cornell University 

Bio: Seth Brahler is the Senior Director of HR Administration and Technology at Cornell University. For the past 22 years, he has held progressively senior roles within the Division of Human Resources. He currently provides leadership in various areas, including Information Systems, Benefits Administration, Project Management, System Integrations, Reporting, IT Security, and Change Management. Seth actively represents HR and university needs through his participation in internal and external steering committees, governance groups and advisory boards. He holds SHRM-SCP and coaching certifications and is passionate about emotionally intelligent leadership. His commitment to building and supporting enduring teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, and driving continuous process improvement underscores his dedication to excellence in his field.

Audrey Dumouchel-Jones
Arizona State University

Bio: As the Assistant Vice President of Talent Management at Arizona State University’s Office of Human Resources, Audrey Dumouchel-Jones leads the HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Talent Recognition, and Talent Development teams. Under her leadership, these teams drive innovative HR initiatives and strategies that enhance the university’s workforce. With over 20 years of experience in human resources, she has a rich background in workforce management, performance and operations management, and talent development. She has successfully led university-wide HR initiatives, leveraging her extensive experience in the public and private sectors. She joined ASU’s Office of Human Resources in December 2006, bringing a wealth of knowledge from her previous HR leadership roles in the retail and service industries. Her career is marked by a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment that nurtures talent and promotes professional growth. She is first-generation college graduate, originally from Montreal, Canada, and is a proud ASU alumna. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business management with a focus in human resources and furthered her education at Keller Graduate School of Management, pursuing graduate studies in human resources. She has earned professional certifications through the Society for Human Resource Management and the HR Certification Institute. Beyond her professional achievements, Audrey is passionate about people and all things HR. She is involved in various university committees and is dedicated to significantly impacting the ASU community and beyond.

Fun Fact: I am a mom of four (and a grandma!), and my youngest daughter just graduated high school and will be moving to ASU! I am navigating the transition from mom role to the next phase of life! I plan to travel more and enjoy lake time with my new “free” time!

What are you most looking forward to about the ARU-HRI CHRO Academy program?

Learning new skills to grow into a CHRO role, as well as networking and learning from colleagues and peers.

Samantha Feanny
University of Miami Health System and the Miller School of Medicine

Bio: Samantha Feanny is the Associate Vice President and Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer for the University of Miami Health System and the Miller School of Medicine (UHealth/MSOM). She oversees recruitment for UHealth/MSOM as well as Client Services (Employee/Labor Relations), Support Services (Records and Transactions), and Immigration. As a licensed attorney by background, she began her career in public health where she focused primarily on labor and employment law. Her shift into human resources stemmed from her love of working closely with employees and creating environments where they can thrive. She attended New York University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in history, and University of Miami School of Law where she earned her juris doctor degree.

Fun Fact: I was born and raised in Jamaica. I often think this is the reason I love to travel and “get off the island!” In total, I have now traveled to 50 countries.

What are you most looking forward to about the ARU-HRI CHRO Academy program? Learning from my peers to see what best practices I can bring back to the University of Miami.

Janet Gipson
Yale University  

Bio: Janet Gipson is the Head of Talent Acquisition for Yale University. She leads a team of TA professionals and is responsible for all aspects of staff hiring for Yale including the function and placement of recruiting technologies, processes and people that deliver talent for the organization. She chose talent acquisition after a successful career in sales engineering, business development, and finally as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing. She pivoted to the recruitment space to help large, Fortune 200 companies put their best brand forward to attract talent and has been in this space for the past 6+ years. Additionally, she is passionate about helping candidates achieve their desired personal and professional goals. With degrees in math, engineering and business, she applies her technical background to the data-driven marketing and people-talent space to deliver consistently for organizations. A compassionate professional that always looks for ways to give back, she holds or has held memberships in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Jack and Jill of America, Inc., Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and other professional and community organizations.

Fun Fact: Practicing Pilates brings me joy. I have a full studio in my home to practice and share with others, and I am working on my certification.

What are you most looking forward to about the ARU-HRI CHRO Academy program?

I look forward to meeting and networking with my HR peers in higher ed. We will share a unique opportunity to connect and learn more about the CHRO role and will be able to apply these learnings back to our teams and institutions.

Sumitra Krishnan
Stanford University

Bio: Sumitra Krishnan has been with Stanford University for over 15 years and progressed in her HR career working for three different organizations within the university. She is currently the Associate Vice President, HR Community, an inaugural role for the university. She is responsible for working closely with leaders and various HR professionals across the university to drive business objectives, provide guidance and ensure excellent service delivery. She is responsible for implementing the Stanford HR strategy and driving initiatives within the HR community to improve agility, employee focus, and adherence to university-wide HR strategies and policies. Her previous positions at the university include Chief Human Resources Officer for the School of Humanities and Sciences and Director of Academic Affairs and HR Strategies for the Department of Pediatrics. She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Mumbai and a master’s in public administration from Notre Dame de Namur University. She is certified as a SHRM Certified Professional and a Professional in Human Resources from HRCI and is a member of SHRM and CUPA-HR.

Fun Fact: I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling and baking.

Julie Lance
University of California, Irvine

Bio: For over 20 years, Julie Lance has dedicated her career to advancing the mission and strategic impact of the University of California (UC). She has worked at both UC San Diego and UC Irvine. She has served the university in different capacities including academic program management, graduate student services, planning and budget, administration, executive leadership support, and human resources. She currently serves as the Senior Director for Client and Strategic Services with UC Irvine, where she provides HR services across the enterprise. She manages decentralized HR services in executive management units, oversees internal HR business services, serves as an internal professional coach, and works on strategic initiatives as a member of the HR senior leadership team. She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from UC San Diego and a master’s degree from San Diego State University. She is a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), a certified mediator with the Orange County Human Relations Commission, and has been certified by the Human Capital Institute as a Strategic HR Business Partner (sHRBP).

Fun Fact: I love to be creative – arts and crafts, team-building activities, whatever the opportunity. I’m learning to quilt right now!

Gabriel Lopez
New York University Steinhardt

Bio: Gabriel Lopez has worked in higher education human resources in the public and private sector for over 12 years and currently serves as the Executive Director of Human Resources for NYU Steinhardt. In this position, he oversees HR services and strategy for the NYU Steinhardt School and is a strategic partner to senior leadership. He enjoys creating and implementing new professional development programs, community building initiatives and engagement events for NYU employees to feel a sense of belonging and enjoy their workplace. He holds an MBA in industrial/organizational psychology and an SHPR certificate and is a certified facilitator for the Everything DiSC.

Fun Fact: I enjoy being outdoors in nature, spending time with my family, and learning new and interesting recipes to cook.

Sharri Margraves
Michigan State University

Bio: Sharri Margraves, Ed.D., SHRM-SCP, serves as Director of the Organization and Professional Development unit at Michigan State University, focusing on learning and development and providing consultative services for MSU leaders interested in improving their organizational effectiveness. Her professional interests include strategic planning, recognition, leadership team development, change leadership, performance management and lean leadership. Prior to coming to MSU HR in 2012, she served MSU through multiple leadership roles within Residential and Hospitality Services, including MSU interim director of Student Housing and director for Construction, Maintenance and Interior Design, and she established the Marketing Communications department. She holds a master’s degree in Higher Education and Adult Learning and Education from MSU and a doctorate in Organizational Leadership with a cognate in Lean Leadership from Oakland University.

Kimberly Moton
Harvard University

Bio: Kimberly Moton serves as the Managing Director for Talent Acquisition and Outreach at Harvard University. In this role, she leads and facilitates an effective and innovative community of practice with Talent Acquisition resources embedded across the 12 schools, including optimizing Harvard’s employer branding and experimentation with new ways of attracting talent in hard-to-recruit disciplines. While she has oversight of the university-wide strategic talent pipeline development, sourcing and executive search efforts, she also manages the Central Administration Talent Acquisition Team and the university-wide contingent workforce Managed Service Provider. Prior to joining Harvard in 2022, she worked at Johns Hopkins University where she served as the Executive Director, Talent Management, HR, Finance and Administration for Development and Alumni Relations. She has held talent and/or DEIB roles throughout her career, where she made measurable impact at BAE Systems, Fannie Mae, the American Red Cross and Arthur Andersen. Kimberly holds a bachelor’s degree in Management Science – Decision Support Systems with a minor in Finance from Virginia Tech and is an esteemed Wharton Global Fellow in Talent Management. Through her training at the Coaches Training Institute, she is also an executive and life coach, helping emerging leaders discover and develop their strengths and to maximize their leadership potential.

Kelly Moy
University of Southern California 

Bio: Kelly Moy began her career with the University of Southern California in 2014, serving as the Human Resources Director for the Office of the Provost. Prior to joining USC, she served as a manager, senior HR consultant and strategic business partner in the utility and finance industry. In her former positions, she created new centralized HR functions that included workplace investigations, compensation planning, organizational design, reorganizations, workforce planning, talent acquisition, and technical and leadership skill development. Currently, she has operational oversight for HR, with responsibility for project management, talent management and the total rewards functions. With her specialties in HR operations, strategic planning and process and program implementation, she adds tremendous value in USC’s effort to have more impact than ever before. A strategic thinker and skilled negotiator, she has creatively managed a multi-faceted portfolio of client types and introduced new technologies to streamline processes and deliver HR products and services in a way that has strengthened trust and business partnerships. She holds an undergraduate business degree from Pepperdine University, an MBA from Concordia University, and a master’s in Dispute Resolution from USC’s Gould School of Law. Bio: As Associate Vice Provost for Human Resources at the University of Pennsylvania, Ufuoma Pela brings a wealth of strategic acumen to the University’s HR functions. With over a decade of experience in human resource management, he has a proven track record in staff and labor relations, organizational development and strategic communications. At Penn, he oversees a team of more than 1,800 staff members, embodying a leadership style that is both data-informed and people-oriented. His background in business administration from the University of Maine and ongoing legal studies reflect his commitment to continuous learning and adaptability. He is known for his expertise in developing strategies that support organizational goals, emphasizing a balance between operational needs and employee well-being. He is actively involved in talent acquisition, staff development and crafting initiatives that enhance the work environment while fostering professional growth. The program’s emphasis on executive leadership development aligns perfectly with my aspiration to become a CHRO one day. Additionally, the networking opportunities with fellow HR leaders and industry experts are invaluable, as they will help me build meaningful professional relationships and broaden my perspective.

Erin Rice

Bio: Erin Rice is an almost-native Seattleite and both an alum and employee of the University of Washington. Prior to finding her way back to her alma mater, she spent nine years as an attorney in private practice, advising and representing small cities, towns and other public entities in employment-related matters. Since returning to UW, she has held progressively responsible positions within UWHR, including Manager of the Disability Services Office and Director of Employee Relations for Campus HR. She has served as Assistant Vice President for Campus HR Operations since 2014.

Fun Fact: Prior to 2020, I had never had a dog as part of the family. Now, my pandemic pup brings joy to my life everyday.

Jennifer Rossler
State University of New York at Stony Brook

Bio: Jennifer Rossler currently serves as the Director of Talent Acquisition and Total Rewards, as well as the Director of Executive Search and Leadership Resources for State University of New York at Stony Brook. Her higher education HR career at Stony Brook spans almost 20 years, and she has a wide range of experience in multiple areas of HR. Prior to Total Rewards and Talent Acquisition, she served in leadership roles in Employment Services and Training and Organizational Development. She also works with the university’s Health Sciences areas and routinely assumes roles in committees and other important strategic initiatives. She currently sits on the HR Now steering committee as well as serving as the HR lead on the Business Partner Implementation team.
