I am not a CHRO presently. May I nominate myself?
No. This program is intended for nominations to come directly from CHROs who are current ARU-HRI members.

May an institution nominate more than one person?
We ask that each CHRO only nominate one individual per institution to participate in any given year.

I am a member of ARU-HRI and a CHRO. May I nominate a person at another ARU-HRI institution?
No. CHROs should only nominate an individual from their own ARU-HRI member institution.

How do I know if someone on my team is appropriate to be nominated for the Academy?
The content is designed for individuals who are ready to take a deeper dive into strategic HR leadership and who have an understanding of the business of higher education, have strong communication and presentation skills, and a solid baseline understanding of people analytics. Feel free to contact either of the co-chairs identified below if you have additional questions.

Who pays for attendance at the Academy?
Universities must support the attendance of successful nominees by paying for travel. Participant registration is included in the ARU-HR Institute annual membership fee.

Where is the Academy being held?
The event is being held at Deloitte University in Westlake, Texas.

When is the Academy held?
The 2026 event will be held July 29-31.

When will I be notified if my nominee is selected to participate?
Nominees and their nominators will both be notified by early May 2026.
